Last November, 202 magic players showed up for the first ever NRG Series x MTGO event, a humble $2.5K that was a test event a year in the making! If you were there, you were part of history. And even if you weren’t, the series is back because of the enthusiasm of players just like you.

This is your first opportunity to earn NRG Points and secure a Showdown invite to Champs for the 2026 NRG Championship. It’s true; you’re personally invited to play in the second ever official collaboration between Daybreak Games: MTGO and independent tournament organizers.

This collaboration between NRG and MTGO took a year to bring to light—the result of countless conversations, pitches, and a shared belief that digital and tabletop Magic deserve to stand side by side.
The photo above shows the NRG, UltimateGuard, and MTGO/Daybreak staff, commentators, and players in the Magic Online Vintage Cube LIVE Prize Cube held October 25-26, 2024. It was there the first conversations began with the MTGO team to bring this event to life.
Last November we held a test event that had a higher satisfaction rate than any other event of the year, to see this event fill with amazing players like you would justify everyone who has worked behind the scenes to make it real. And, even as of February 4th, there were threats and boggarts almost upending the entire system, (Mark will talk about those at the pre-meeting, giving you an insider look at the battles fought for YOU).
